Boy hangs self after teacher rebukes him

A 16-year-old boy on Sunday allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house after being rebuked by his teacher for carrying a mobile phone to his school in East Delhi’s Ghazipur area. The police have recovered a suicide note from the house, in which the boy identified as Tarun has said that he was depressed over the episode. 

The incident came to light around 6 pm when Tarun’s parents informed the police. They said the boy did not speak to anyone when he had returned home from the school on Saturday and had kept to himself.

In the note, Tarun had written that he was depressed after his teacher confiscated his mobile phone and threatened to inform his parents about it. He had claimed that he had tried to convince the teacher to give him back the phone but he refused and asked him to meet with his parents on Monday. The police are yet to file a case in the case.
