Boy dies while escaping from rehab centre, 13 others flee

Fourteen inmates of a drug rehabilitation centre here escaped from the facility by breaking the window grill of its toilet but one of them had a tragic end as he died of excessive injuries sustained while fleeing. 

A sharp iron rod pierced through Mohsin’s thigh as he and his friends tried to break open the grill in order to flee. He was immediately taken to a private hospital by the staff where he succumbed to his injuries and excessive bleeding.

“Even after excessive bleeding he did not stop and tried to get away,” SHO Surendra Yadav said. One girl and two other addicts who didn’t join the other inmates in the escape bid were handed over to their parents, he said.
