Bomb hoax at NSCBI Airport, Durgapur mall

A bomb hoax triggered panic at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport and Durgapur City Centre on Monday. 

There was a bomb scare at NSCBI Airport after some passengers spotted an abandoned trolley outside the domestic terminal. There was a bag on the trolley that triggered panic among the passengers. After being informed, CISF personnel rushed to the spot. Entire area was cordoned off and passengers were evacuated from the area. A team of Bidhannagar police along with bomb squads reached the spot. Sniffer dogs were also brought in. Police and bomb squad after a thorough investigation found no suspicious item. An officer said some garments were recovered from the bag.     

In a separate incident, a bomb scare also triggered tension at a shopping mall in Durgapur after an unclaimed school bag was found lying inside it. Bomb squad was pressed into action. However, the squad members recovered some books when they opened the bag.
