Body of woman found in pond

Mystery shrouds the death of a middle aged tribal woman, whose body was found in a pond at Balurghat in South Dinajpur on Friday morning. Police suspect that the woman was raped, murdered and later her body was dumped in the pond. 

A police officer said that they were waiting for the autopsy report to confirm the reason behind the murder but they had seen a noose marks around the victim’s neck. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim Bisoman Kujur was missing since Thursday evening. 

On Friday morning her body was found in a pond. The victim’s husband Saria Kujur had lodged a complaint with the police against a resident of the adjacent village alleging that he had kidnapped his wife on Thursday. 

He alleged that the person had given some wrong proposal to his wife and took the revenge as she had turned down his proposal.
