Body of 5-month-old baby found

In what appears to be a case of female infanticide, the body of a 5-month-old girl child was found dumped in the bushes of a forested area at the Narela area of Outer Delhi on Monday morning.

According to the police, a local made a PCR call at around 9.45 am on Monday morning when he went to relieve himself, and found the body of a baby girl wrapped in a polythene bag, lying among the bushes. Local police reached the spot and took the girl-child’s body which will be kept in the Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial hospital (BJRM) mortuary till its identification.

According to a police official investigating the matter, they suspect it to be a case of abortion.

Apart from the local police, a crime team and many forensic experts also reached the spot to carry out a thorough investigation. According to the police, the abortion was carried out at a private clinic in the area.
