BMW case: court denies identification parade

A local court dismissed on Thursday Gurgaon police’s plea for carrying out identification parade of Suraj Sehrawat, main accused in the BMW hit-and-run case. Two persons were killed on 5 May.

The order came after Suraj’s advocate Vishal Gupta contended that both the electronic and print media had flashed Suraj Sehrawat’s photo and there was no logic now to conduct an identification parade.

While dismissing police’s plea on identification parade, the court also directed both the parties not to share information related to the investigation with the media.

The court also directed Sehrawat to cooperate with the investigation being conducted by the police and ordered that his blood sample, clothes and other relevant goods of Suraj can be sought by the police.
