BJP’s ‘lie’ on land allotment for office exposed: AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said the “lie of BJP” on land allotment for its office has been completely exposed. “BJP’s lie about its greed to grab a plot of land originally earmarked for a school in Central Delhi has been completely nailed by the clarification issued by the DDA in response to the letter by deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung,” the AAP said in a statement.

The BJP first stated that due procedure had been followed for allotment of land to it and the land was allotted during the Congress-led UPA government’s regime, the AAP said. The DDA statement, however, makes it absolutely clear that the Land and Development Office (L&DO), which is under the Union Urban Development Ministry, allotted land to the BJP on November 27, 2014, the party said.

“What is equally shocking is that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, who is an educationalist himself, strangely allowed the land originally earmarked for a school to be divested for construction of an office of a political party,” the statement added.

Sisodia, on Wednesday urged the Lieutenant-Governor to withdraw his decision of allotting a piece of land at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, to build an office complex of the BJP, as it was initially reserved for a school. In a letter written to the LG, he said, in a state where there is shortage of schools and over hundreds of students were studying in one classroom, and where the Delhi government is looking at every corner of the state to start a school, this land has been allotted for building an office complex of the BJP.
