BJP will allow SP-Cong alliance if tie-up benefits it: Mayawati

BSP chief Mayawati on Monday said that BJP is forging alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party to divide Muslim vote bank for its electoral gains in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. She also alleged that the Central government is misusing the corruption cases on Samajwadi Party leaders to herd them for alliance with Congress.

“There is general discussion among public that through the misuse of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax, and Enforcement Directorate, the BJP is intimidating leaders of SP to fall in line as Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family members have huge unaccounted money,” said Mayawati.

“The final stamp on Congress and SP alliance will come from BJP. This alliance depends on electoral calculations of BJP’s top brass,” she added. The BSP chief emphasised that only her party is capable of preventing BJP from coming into the power. “Whenever SP comes in power, BJP becomes stronger. It was due to SP’s divisive politics BJP gained from nine to 73 MPs in 2014 Lok Sabha elections,” she argued smelling connivance between SP and BJP.

Mocking the Yadav family, she said, “I am sure, the people of UP will not waste their votes even if SP joins hands with Congress. They have learnt a lot in by voting BJP in Lok Sabha elections 2014 which failed their expectations,”.

Mayawati also made an all round attack on opposition parties, saying, “Congress, BJP and SP have a long history of communal violence in the state. It was due to connivance between SP and BJP; the then Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav ordered firing on Kar Sevaks in Ayodhya in 1990.  Like his father, Akhilesh Yadav too has a long list of communal riots in his tenure in which many people lost their lives.”
