BJP trying to use Guv’s office for political purposes: Partha

Claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to use the office of the Governor for political purpose, secretary general of the party Partha Chatterjee said that Trinamool Congress would protest if Raj Bhavan is used for political purpose.

It may be mentioned that Chatterjee’s reaction came in response to the remark made by the Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, who said: “Every state, irrespective of political attachment, should try to ensure peace in the state and maintain law and order.”

His statement came on the sidelines of a programme in Kolkata when asked about Tuesday’s incident.

When asked for his comment in connection with the Governor’s statement, Chatterjee said: “He (Governor) did not mention any particular state. But if Raj Bhavan is used for political purpose, we will protest.”

Brushing aside the allegations brought against Trinamool Congress workers of attacking BJP party officer in central Kolkata after the arrest of MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Chatterjee said: “Party flags are easily available and can be purchased from the market.” He once again raised question on deployment of CRPF jawans near BJP party office without any permission from the state government.

“How could the CRPF jawans, whose duty is to provide security of BJP leader Rahul Sinha, were sent to the spot without permission of the state?” he raised the question.
