BJP spent Rs 10,000 cr on advertisements: Akhilesh
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday alleged that BJP has spent Rs 10,000 crore on TV advertisement during the polls and Narendra Modi was only confined to commercials and had no base in the state.

‘More than Rs 10,000 crore was spent by BJP on TV advertisement and Modi was confined just to commercials,’ Yadav said while addressing election meetings in Kurra and Karhal area here.

He also said that BJP and Congress were busy fighting ‘toffee word war’ and there was no Modi impact in UP.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had labelled the Gujarat development model as a ‘toffee model’. Later, BJP also retaliated and accused the Congress of trying to deviate from issues affecting the people.

The chief minister said that his government had provided employment to youth and those who could not get proper job were given unemployment allowance.

Attacking BSP chief Mayawati, Yadav alleged that she had installed her own statue on public expenses.

He said that during the BSP government there was rampant corruption and after coming to the power the SP government sent many corrupt ministers and officers of the previous government to jail.
