BJP, RSS sing in unison on ‘forced’ conversion

BJP President Amit Shah, while interacting with the reporters in Kochi in Kerala, said, “We are against forcible conversions and we expect other parties will support us in bringing the law to ensure secularism in the country.” “So-called other secular parties should support BJP’s move,” he added.

When asked to reply on recent conversion in the name of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ in Agra, he said, “I will not like to comment in the matter because is before the court. But yes, we need a public debate for a large consensus among political parties on bringing the law.” Meanwhile, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat too demanded the Bill.
