Besides blocking the roads at almost all the important places, they have also planned to block Delhi Metro operations-the life line of the city. The party also carried out a mashal julus on Wednesday evening in Karol Bagh area.

'The workers will stage the protest at all Metro stations since morning to block the operation of Delhi Metro. They have also been directed to protest at DTC bus depots to ensure that they could not hit the roads,' said Vijender Gupta, Delhi Pradesh President of BJP.

All MLAs, councillors and senior leaders have been directed to protest in their areas. The party has issued advisory to citizens to stay in their homes to avoid inconvenience and come out only for extremely urgent tasks.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Gupta carried out protests in several parts of city against hike in petrol and CNG prices. In the evening, mashal julus (torch demonstration) was also organised by the party in Karol Bagh area, to mark the eve of Bharat Bandh being organised on Thursday.

'The people are spontaneously participating in the protest to teach a lesson to the government for sky-rocketing prices, which is being further fuelled by current price hike in petrol and CNG prices,' said Vijender Gupta.

He also addressed office bearers of more than 250 trader organisations of Delhi, who came to promise him full support of their respective organisations. Gupta claimed it band will be historical and everything from tea shops to bullion market shall remain closed.

'The common man is fed up with the continuous price hike of petro, diesel, CNG and inflation by the Congress government. Entire Delhi is crying and the government is taking anti-people decisions, one after another,' added Gupta. The Bharat Bandh will be organised from 8 am to 8 pm.
