BJP mulls Bihar conquest over Sakranti feast

Modi’s visit to Paswan’s house — a leader from Bihar and presently holding the portfolio of Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution — was an apparent move to please the sentiments of voters of Bihar ahead of state poll, which is expected to be held in October. After securing a massive victory in Jharkhand and emerging as a second largest party in Jammu & Kashmir, BJP is all set to focus on Bihar, which has 243 assembly seats. Party sources said, “Shah’s visit is mainly to reorganise the party’s strength in the state and project BJP manifesto by keeping Modi’s face in public.”

It is confirmed that BJP will not project anyone as a Chief Ministerial candidate in Bihar and Modi will personally go for a series of public meetings in the month of April, June and July. “Be it Jharkhand or Jammu & Kashmir, it was our PM who set the strategy followed by the party president. This time too in Bihar, same party strategy will be followed,” party sources said.

It was learnt that Shah - despite being worried over JD-U and RJD alliance - set a target of ‘Mission 185’ in Bihar and will highlights the achievement of Modi government, considering the caste factor during his two day visit to Bihar.

During the Lok Sabha elections the party and his allies has won 31 of the 40 seats in the state.
