BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi joins colleagues in Jaipur

BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi who was released on conditional bail by a district court in connection with Shaktiman case, reached 11 Ashoka Road, New Delhi, on the same day to meet senior BJP leaders. Later, he was shifted to Jaipur along with other 26 BJP and 9 rebel Congress MLAs.

It is certain that for the first time in 15 years of Uttarakhand, Holi would be celebrated without political colours. In the past, it was a common sight on Holi when leaders of rival parties used to exchange wishes keeping political rivalry at arm’s length.

For the last two years, Joshi had been a regular visitor to CM Harish Rawat’s official residence. But this Holi would be colorless in corridors of power. Even former CM and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal never missed an opportunity to celebrate Holi with Rawat. But this time, a tug of war for power has drawn a big lakhsman rekha between BJP and Congress. Majority show slated on March 28 has eclipsed brotherhood among politicians on Holi.

He was to address media on Wednesday, but he cancelled all the meetings and headed to national capital. As per reliable sources, he joined the 35 MLAs including 9 rebel Congress MLAs in Jaipur. With this, the BJP tally reached 27, bereft of Bhimlal Arya from Ghansali (Tehri Garhwal).

Joshi was arrested in connection with Shaktiman case, when state budget was passed by voice vote in state assembly.
