BJP leaders asked not to share Delhi debacle with Vajpayee

BJP leaders asked not to share Delhi debacle with Vajpayee
Earlier, after Lok Sabha poll results, BJP leaders went to meet party veteran for his blessing and were seen distributing sweets at 6-A, Krishna Menon Marg. However, this time they were asked to stay away from him.

Sources said, 90-year old Vajpayee who is suffering from multiple ailments including severe memory loss, could differentiate things and relate current affairs only if told through body and manual
language.

Last time also when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, he could relate that it was a massive victory for the party and struggled to express himself. Not the least, recently on his 90th birthday (December 25) Modi met him at his residence to wish him. After meeting Vajpayee, Modi declared his birthday as “Good Governance Day” “There is no bigger tribute to Atal ji than celebrating his birthday as Good Governance Day and pledging to devote ourselves to this cause,” PM had said. But this time even the PM himself decided not to visit his house.

“When Modi ji met him on his birthday, Vajpayee ji gave an expressionless response with a fact that he understood that there is something special. Only people around him who work round the clock could understand his expression and requirement,” sources said.

He said, “This time no one came after the Delhi poll results as they were asked not to disturb him following his health conditions. Some leaders tried to come but they were asked to meet him later.”
Vajpayee, a veteran leader of the BJP, served as prime minister first for 13 days in 1996 and then from 1998 to 2004. Just a day ahead of his birthday, the government announced Bharat Ratna for the BJP patriarch for his contributions to the country in 2014.
