BJP in fix over Mulayam’s praise for Advani

The recent praise being accoladed to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani,  by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has put the party in a fix. The party which had remained silent on Yadav’s comment since last three days, on Tuesday rejected Yadav’s comment.

‘The BJP does not take any remark of Mulayam Singh Yadav seriously,’ said BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy, while referring to SP chief praising Advani.

The BJP spokesperson further said that Yadav himself has no standing in Uttar Pradesh and his comments can’t be taken on face value. ‘Mulayam Singh Yadav will say one thing  today and then few days later he will change his stand and will say some thing else,’ said Rudy.

Sources said that the BJP took this stand as they do not want to be seen cosying to Yadav, as it will harm the electoral prospects of the BJP.

Though the party has tried hard to dissociate itself from Yadav’s remark and has been trying not to make much out of it, the party leader and Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had a contrary view on the subject.

‘I am happy that Mulayam Singh ji has gone beyond political ideology by acknowledging Advaniji’s comments and seeking corrective action,’ tweeted Chouhan recently. The Madhya Pradesh chief minister also said that, ‘Amongst Indian political leadership today nobody can match Advaniji in stature, integrity, nationalism and ideology based on good governance.’

Recently the Mulayam Singh Yadav  had called Advani, an honest man who never ever lied. Yadav had also said that the senior BJP leader was concerned about the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav must listen to Advani.
