BJP feeling scared after the passing of Jan Lokpal: AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday alleged that BJP is scared of the Jan Lokpal Bill stating that if corruption really gets wiped out BJP will have no source of income to run the party.

“Some political parties in Delhi are now feeling threatened with the passing of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Cabinet. Leaders of BJP are specially feeling uncomfortable and fear that their wrong deeds especially in institutions like the MCDs will be exposed and put a lot of people behind bars,” said Dilip Pandey, Delhi secretary of AAP.

The ruckus created by BJP in the Assembly is a sign of discomfort and fear, he added.

It may be noted that while the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi was preparing to table the bill, BJP tried to create an impression that it was trying to push for the bill by meeting the Lieutenant Governor (LG).

“The Jan Lokpal Bill in Delhi is the fulfilment of people’s aspiration and denotes the significance of the landslide victory which people bestowed upon with the Aam Aadmi Party converting the BJP to a three member legislative party in the Delhi Assembly. The bill will now be taken up for discussion at the earliest possible time and passed by the Assembly,” Pandey added.

“It is ridiculous that the BJP MLAs are now at the door of the LG asking him to stall the Bill. Who are they trying to protect by stalling the passage of the Jan Lokpal Bill? What is the relevance of the BJP, trying to engage the LG to undermine an elected government which has all the rights to make law for the people of the State in which it rules,” Pandey asked.

“There are many skeletons in the closets of the BJP and Congress leaders. The Aam Aadmi Party government has resolved to bring every corrupt person to book and some people seem to be afraid of it,” Pandey added.
