BJP embraces Kanshi Ram to woo dalits

With assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and New Delhi to be held this year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned to embrace dalit leaders like Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram and Congress leader Babu Jagjivan Ram. BJP leaders say that in a bid to woo Dalits towards them, the party will be talking about these leaders and also a team to mobilise dalits towards BJP will be formed by the end of April.

The party plans to target dalit women, dalit government employees and the organisations that work  with dalits.
