BJP declares candidates for assembly bypoll in U’Khand

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board announced the names of candidates for the bypoll in three assembly seats which is slated to be held on 21 July. The names were declared on late Wednesday night. The party has fielded Trivendra Singh Rawat from Doiwala seat, BD Joshi from Dharchula seat and Mohan Ram Arya from Someshwar seat. The Congress had declared the names of its candidates on 26 June.

Lashing out at Congress, senior BJP leader Trivendra Singh Rawat and two-time legislature from Doiwala seat said, ‘This assembly bypoll is going to repeat the results of parliamentary elections. The scars of last year disaster are still visible in Kedarnath valley, as recent search operations discovered many skeletons of disaster-victims and many more are still untraceable. Any sensible person is not going to support Congress which is insensitive to human lives.’
