BJP, Cong gearing up for rallies in U’Khand

As the poll-bound Uttarakhand is moving towards electoral battle, two big parties BJP and Congress are gearing up for rallies to win the confidence of voters and know their pulse. The excess of candidates who are willing to contest in each 70 assembly constituencies is a puzzling situation for both political parties. The parties are in doldrums as how to pick-up the most suitable candidate among long list of candidates and appease the unfortunate ones.

‘Friends turns foe’ is a common trend in state politics as seen in last three assembly elections. The rally will give an opportunity to contestants for party tickets to show their strength in the presence of party stalwarts. The rally by both parties will solve their problems to some extent, as per party sources.

While the Congress is solely depending on the charismatic image of CM Harish Rawat to repeat the 2012 feat, but the loss of 10 party legislatures after 18 March political turmoil is adding worries on the faces of senior party leaders in national capital. Ambika Soni, party in-charge who reached state capital on Wednesday tried to bridge the gap between party organization and government and directed party workers including senior party leaders to remain united and forget all the differences till election is over.

The top political stars Amit Shah and Rahul Gandhi are expected to visit Devbhoomi to ensure their parties win in next assembly election.  BJP national president Amit Shah is expected to address rallies on 13 November to kick-start the ‘Parivartran Yatra’ which will begin on November 12. To counter the political move, the arch rival Congress will start Satat Vikas Sankalp yatra which will begin on 19 November.

State BJP president Ajay Bhatt told the main motive behind this rally is to oust corrupt Harish Rawat government by revealing their misrule and misdeeds and aware public about the achievements of Modi government.
