Bizman jumps from car to escape kidnappers

A businessman saved himself by jumping from a moving vehicle on National Highway 60 at Kulgara village in Purulia after being abducted by some miscreants.

Police said that Pradip Mondal, the victim was returning home along the National Highway on Wednesday night on his motorcycle when some miscreants came on a private car and blocked his way. The miscreants dragged the local businessman into their vehicle. As there were 4-5 persons, they could easily overpower the businessman. As it was already late at night, there was no one on the road to stop the miscreants from abducting the businessman. 

The victim later told the police that he was hit on his head with a stick following which he lost consciousness. After he came back to his senses, the victim found that the vehicle was crossing Bhangra area of Purulia. In a desperate bid, the businessman opened the door of the running vehicle and jumped outside. The vehicle had slowed down a little bit due to traffic. The victim received injuries on his head and some parts of his body. Some local people rescued the businessman and rushed him to Purulia Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

The miscreants, however, sped up their vehicle and fled the spot as some local people rushed to his rescue. Before they realised anything, the vehicle disappeared.

In the interrogation, the victim told the police that the miscreants were speaking in Hindi and they might have come from some other state. He told the police that a 5-member gang abducted him while returning home along the National Highway. The miscreants had looted nearly Rs 50,000 from the victim and his mobile phone was also snatched away by them.
