Bihar CM visits ONGC drill site in Kishenganj

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, visited ONGC drill site at Rasulganj in Kochadhamin Block in Kishenganj district of Bihar. He was taken around the installation and explained ONGC operations by Sudhir Vasudeva CMD ONGC.

The chief minister was accompanied by minister for water resources, government of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Chowdhry and principal secretary to chief minister Anjani Kumar Singh.

Welcoming the chief minister to the drill site CMD Sudhir Vasudeva said that it was indeed an important occasion that chief minister of Bihar was visiting ONGC drill site. CM was presented the model of an onshore rig.

Speaking on this occasion Nitish Kumar expressed his keen interest in the ongoing drilling activity of ONGC in Bihar. He expressed hope that the find would be commercially viable and helps put Bihar on the oil map of the country.

 Vasudeva said that ONGC had taken up drilling in Bihar in the 1960s and 70s but this is the first well taken up for drilling under the NELP regime.

 He said that the well is still in exploratory stage, but ONGC is hopeful that the well would strike hydrocarbons.
