Will Fadnavis get defence portfolio?

A day after Manohar Parrikar resigned from the post of Defence Minister to become Goa CM, speculations are rife that Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis may replace him.

However, close sources of Fadnavis dismissed the buzz, saying: "Yes, BJP national president Amit Shah called him. But he is not willing to go to Delhi."

Sources also said that, the Maharashtra CM will be visiting the national capital later this week and hold talks with the party president Amit Shah. Also, Maharashtra may get new CM if Fadnavis gets a cabinet berth in Centre.

According to a report, Fadnavis may become the next Defence Minister in Modi government.

Reportedly, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil could replace Fadnavis as the Chief Minister.

Fadnavis had led BJP to an amazing victory in the recently held BMC polls. This possible elevation could be a reward for marshalling BJP troops effectively in Maharashtra.
