Dehradun: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi on Monday, after testing Covid positive. He is said to be suffering from a minor lung infection too, according to doctors at the Doon Hospital. In an official communication, Rawat was admitted to Doon Hospital after developing mild fever on Sunday evening and was referred to AIIMS for a thorough medical examination. The CM's official physician, Dr NS Bisht, who accompanied Rawat to Delhi, said the latter's condition is normal.

On December 18, the Chief Minister went on home isolation after he tested positive for Covid and on Sunday evening, he complained of mild fever. Uttarakhand reported over 89,218 Covid-19 positive cases and over 1,400 fatalities and Dehradun district has so far reported 26,806 cases.
