Unnao: Court frames murder charges against Sengar

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday framed charges of murder against the Unnao rape accused, MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, his brother Atul Sengar and three UP policemen, for the custodial death of the Unnao rape victim's father.

During the Supreme Court-mandated day-to-day hearing of the Unnao cases in a Tis Hazari court, Judge Dharmesh Sharma charged the expelled BJP legislator and the other accused with the assault and custodial death of the rape victim's father, who was framed in a false Arms Act case and arrested by the UP Police.

After Sengar had allegedly raped the then 17-year-old girl at his Unnao home, the victim was kidnapped and gang-raped by his henchmen.

When the girl's father was trying to get the case registered at one of the police stations in the UP town, Sengar allegedly instructed policemen in Unnao to plant a country-made pistol on his person and frame him in a purported Arms Act case.
