Online petrol-diesel home delivery soon

New Delhi: Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on Wednesday that petrol and diesel would soon be delivered at the convenience of your home. "Using the technological advancements in the IT & Telecom Sector we will soon be starting online home delivery of Diesel & Petrol," he tweeted.

Trying to leverage the benefits of information technology, the government is planning to put all petroleum products on the e-commerce platform, Pradhan added.

"Can we connect oil with IT and telecommunications? We plan to put all petroleum products on e-commerce platform," Pradhan said while addressing the India Mobile Congress here. The minister said there are 4 crore consumers as against one lakh retail outlets for petroleum products. He also said the industry has an annual turnover of Rs 6.5 lakh crore. Pradhan said, "Prices have started decreasing. The prices have even gone down in the past two days." He cited the hurricanes in the United States IMRA and Harvey as a reason for the instability in the petroleum market and the hike in fuel prices.
