Kolkata shocker! 4-year-old girl sexually assaulted by two teachers inside school
Kolkata: A four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by two teachers of a reputed private school at Ranikuthi under Jadavpur police station area. The victim who has been admitted to SSKM hospital in Kolkata is still in a state of shock. The police have arrested the two accused after the victim identified the two teachers from a photograph shown to her.
State Education minister Partha Chatterjee has ordered a probe into the incident. Expressing his shock, Chatterjee said, " The accused should be subjected to exemplary punishment as per law. The guardians sent their wards to reputed private schools with the hope that they get a quality education. I have heard that a similar incident had occurred in the school three years back. The incident has made it clear that the school authorities have not learnt from their mistake."
Prodded by the Education department the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is holding an enquiry into the matter. " I have already sent a three-member team who will probe the entire matter and will submit a report within 24 hours," Kalyanmoy Ganguly, president of WBBSE said.
According to police sources on Thursday, the minor after she returned to her residence at Vidyasagar Colony in Garia complained of severe pain in her private parts and started weeping. She also informed that she was having difficulty passing urine. Initially, her parents thought that there might be some infection and took her to the local doctor. However, immediately after examining the child, the doctor suspected that there might have been a sexual assault on her. The girl's parents wasted no time and quickly admitted the child to the gynaecological ward of SSKM. A complaint was accordingly lodged at Jadavpur police station.
As per police sources, the four-year-old girl was lured into the toilet with the promise of offering chocolate and then was sexually abused by the physical education teacher and another fellow teacher. " We have arrested both of the accused Avishek Roy and Mohammad Mofijuddin by evidence that we have gathered from the spot," Vishal Garg, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said. Police are slapping Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act on the accused.
Sources in SSKM hospital said that the girl's condition is stable, but she is still in a state of shock. A three-member medical team has been constituted with doctors from gynaecology, paediatrics and forensic medicine departments and her medical test was conducted.
The minor's uniform has also been sent for forensic examination in which blood stains were found.
