Husband kills self after strangulating wife in Noida

Noida: In a tragic incident, a middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide after murdering his wife at Sector 93, Noida on Friday morning.

The deceased, identified as Ravinder, was found hanging from a tree located in a nearby park and his wife, Pinki, was found murdered inside her house. The body was dumped inside the bed after she was allegedly murdered, a police officer investigating the case said.

Police found injury marks on her neck while her nose was found bleeding. "The injury marks suggest that she had been strangulated to death," police said.

Earlier, police recovered the woman's body from her house after receiving the information from her family that she was not answering the phone calls since evening. The police then reached the spot and broke the door of her house after which they recovered her body which was lying inside the bed.

Police then launched a probe into the matter and registered an FIR, based on the allegations of the deceased woman's family that she had been murdered over not fulfilling her husband's dowry demand.

"Following the information, a police team rushed to the spot and found a body of a middle-aged man hanging from a tree. The body was brought down and it was later identified as the husband of the deceased woman," said a senior police officer.

"The body of both the deceased has been sent for post-mortem. We earlier registered an FIR against the husband but upon finding him dead we suspect some other angles behind the death of both. A probe has been launched and we are trying to cover all the possible angles" said Arun Kumar Singh, superintendent of police, Noida.
