Fire breaks out at Mumbai hotel acting as Covid-19 quarantine centre

A fire broke out on Tuesday evening at a hotel-turned-quarantine centre in Mumbai's Nagpada area. No injuries have been reported so far.

The fire took place at Rippon Hotel. Five fire engines and four jumbo tankers have been pressed into service to contain the blaze.

It is a threee-storey building. Most of the patients were brought to a place of safety and search operation is on for any missing persons, said Chief Fire Officer Prabhat Rahangdale.
