Despite restrictions, Shaheen Bagh protest to continue

NEW DELHI: After Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that any gathering – religious, family, social, political or cultural – of over 50 people will not be allowed in the national Capital in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the women of Shaheen Bagh have decided to continue their sit-in.

The protesters who were sceptical about the idea of a ban on the gathering felt that this might be a tactic to tone down the various anti-CAA, NRC and NPR protests across the country.

The protesters at Shaheen Bagh added that they would continue to protest but would take proper health precautions to safeguard themselves from the virus. Some also maintained that they might consider sitting in factions to avoid a gathering of more than 50 as suggested but would not back off from the protest.
