Coronavirus India Updates: Recovery rate over 20%, no new cases in 15 districts in last 28 days, says Health Ministry

Coronavirus India Latest News Live Updates: Union Health Ministry Friday said that no new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in 15 districts in the last 28 days. "In last 24 hours, as many as 1,684 positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported in India, which takes our total confirmed case to 23,077," Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry said during a press briefing.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami announced a complete lockdown in 5 cities. The lockdown will be enforced in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai from April 26 to April 29 between 6 am to 9 pm. In Salem and Tiruppur, the lockdown will be enforced from April 26 to April 28 between 6 am to 9 pm.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Sarpanchs from across the country today. He said that the pandemic has taught people that they have to become self-dependent. "Coronavirus pandemic has thrown up new challenges which we never faced before, but it also made us learn new things. It is because of the efforts of people, the entire world today is talking about how India has responded to the COVID-19 crisis. Despite limited resources amid coronavirus crisis, citizens are taking on this challenge instead of succumbing to difficulties," the Prime Minister said.
