Centre mulls longer lockdown

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Tracker Live Updates: The Centre is mulling over extending lockdown after a lot of state governments as well as experts have appealed against lifting restrictions, according to government sources. An analysis by The Indian Express shows that of the total positive cases across 284 districts reported till Monday, 1,486, or 34.71 per cent, come from 31 districts which receive the highest number of migrants. As the numbers have been continuously rising, at least seven states, which together have reported 1,367 coronavirus cases, indicated Monday that they would continue to have some restrictions in place even after the 21-day national lockdown ends on April 14.

Hours after US President Donald Trump hinted at a possible retaliation if India does not lift its ban on the export of Hydroxychloroquine, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Tuesday said the nation could supply Hydroxychloroquine to "some countries" which are "badly affected" by COVID-19.

In international news, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved to intensive care unit of the hospital after coronavirus symptoms worsened on Monday.
