Bus conductor arrested for 7-yr-old's murder in Ryan International school

Gurgaon: A seven-year-old boy found with his throat slit in the toilet of the Ryan International School in Gurgaon was murdered by Ashok Kumar a 42-year-old school bus conductor who tried to sexually assault him, the police said on Friday evening.
The class 2 student was found in the toilet by a school bus driver shortly after he was dropped off by his father on Friday morning.
His father, a quality manager with a private company, had just reached home after dropping his two children when he received a call from the school.
As the news circulated on WhatsApp, hundreds of anxious parents barged into the school building, flung furniture around and shattered the glass award cases. They shouted slogans until they were ushered out by policemen of the gates. Several parents later protested at a police station.
According to boy's father Varun Thakur, he dropped his two children Pradhuman and his sister Vidhi in the school at 7:55 am. Within 15 minutes he received a call from the school stating that his child was found in a critical state and was asked to come to Artemis hospital. Upon reaching the hospital he was informed of his son's demise.
"My son was a jovial kid who never showed any signs of depression. I, therefore, reject the claims that he committed suicide or was inspired by the Blue whale game. The school management is solely responsible for my son's death," said Varun Thakur.
The school denied any delay in taking the child to the hospital. "The child was looking serious. We didn't lose a minute. We took the child in my car," said Neerja Batra, the officiating principal.
" Kumar has confessed to trying to sexually assault the seven-year-old. When the boy tried to raise an alarm he slit his throat. The knife used in the murder was his own. The accused has no known criminal antecedents," Simardeep Singh, acting police commissioner, Gurugram said.
