Bizarre! After Haryana, women in outer Delhi have their braids snipped off by unknown miscreant

After a spate of bizarre cases in Haryana in which more than a dozen women reported that their hair was snipped under mysterious circumstances, similar cases have surfaced in outer Delhi's Chhawla district in which within a span of 24 hours three women had their braids snipped, creating fear among the locals on Sunday.
The women had complained of sharp pain when they were busy running errands after which they found that their hair was chopped off while they were inside the safe confines of their homes. All the incidents had taken place in the rural belt of outer Delhi, and the victims have confounded the police by claiming no suspects in the case.
The locals were quick to rush to attribute the incident to superstitious forces like witchcraft, the police have however rubbished the rumors and claimed that it may be the work of robbers as they have a CCTV footage of three men near the place of incident and their photographs are being developed. Further, in Gurugram three similar cases were reported although no FIR has been lodged during the writing of this report.
The first case came to the fore around 10 am in Chhawla's Kanganheri village when a 55-year-old woman had reported a sharp pain in her head after she feeding some cows in a local shed. "There was a sharp pain in my head. I went inside my home and the headache started to get worse so decided to take a nap. I felt like someone was pulling my hair and then I saw my hair was chopped off," she said
The victim was inside her house with her two sons, their wives, and three children. The family had told the police that the main door of the house was locked while she was inside her room which was not locked. Around 600 metres from the woman's house, a 45-year-old woman was travelling with her children on a bike when she reported the same sharp pain in her head giving rise to throbbing head aches. She reportedly lost consciousness inside her house after which she found her chopped braid lying on the floor.
Even in her case, she could not identify anyone who came close to chopping her braids. The last case took place late in the night around 11:30 pm in the very same district when the third victim had also found that her hair chopped.
The police have reported three cases and have filed a FIR under sections 328, 354 and 390. "We will solve this case using scientific methods. We have reasons to suspect that robbery may be involved in the case and have been developing the photographs of three suspects from CCTV footages," said DCP (south west) Surender Kumar.
