21-year-old aspiring air hostess stabbed to death by stalker

While scanning the CCTV footage during the investigation of the murder of a 21-year-old aspiring air hostess, the cops found that the accused was holding her by the neck and stabbing her with a long knife.
It also shows two women walking on the road when the accused was running behind the victim with a knife. The footage further shows that the victim was trying her best to run away and also succeeded in getting inside a shop. But, by then, the accused had injured her so grievously that she failed to survive.
This horrific incident happened at MS Park area of Shahdara district where the 21-year-old aspiring air hostess was stabbed by her stalker. The girl died in the hospital and the man is still absconding.
The deceased, Riya Gautam was pursuing an air hostess training course from a well-known institute in the city. On Wednesday, Riya stepped out of her house for some reason. The accused, 22-year-old Adil was waiting for her just outside her house. Immediately on seeing her, he started stabbing her repeatedly.
"This boy was hounding my sister for approximately one year. We have also lodged a complaint with the police on March but they failed to take any strict action. If the police acted on time, my sister would have been alive today," alleged Komal, the deceased's sister.
It has been learnt that Adil lives in the vicinity but had gone to Gujarat some time back. He wanted to teach the girl a lesson as she was spurning his advances. He then hatched the sinister plot to kill Riya.
"No one came forward to help her," wailed Komal.
Soon after the incident, "The girl was rushed to GTB hospital after the attack where she was immediately rushed to the operation theatre. However she could not survive," said a police officer.
According to sources, the girl died due to excessive bleeding from multiple stab wounds. On late Wednesday night, Riya breathed her last.
The CCTV footage also shows some men trying to help Riya get into the shops, but the accused is seen brandishing his a knife in the air and running behind her. The cops have now formed several teams to arrest the accused.
"We are looking at every possible location he could hide. We have certain leads in the case and would soon arrest him," said Nupur Prasad, DCP Shahdara.
