CBI raids AAP minister Satyendra Jain's Delhi Secretariat office

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has raided the office of Delhi's health minister Satyendra Jain today.

According to TV Channel reports, the raid was conducted at the Delhi Secretariat office of Arvind Kejriwal's minister, Satyendra Jain.

In December 2016, the CBI had raided the office of Jain's OSD Dr Nikunj Agarwal.

This is not the first time when CBI had conducted a raid at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister's office. The raid was conducted on the basis of a complaint filed by the government's deputy secretary (Vigilance), K S Meena. The complaint is now the part of the FIR.

The FIR was filed against Anup Mohta, Director, Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, and Aggarwal, a senior resident (SR) at the hospital, for alleged criminal conspiracy under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act).

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijender Gupta has alleged that Aggarwal is the son-in-law of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's sister-in-law.

According to the vigilance department complaint, Aggarwal was appointed as Senior Resident (Ortho) in Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalya on ad hoc basis on August 10, 2015, even though there was no proposal to engage an SR and no such post was available.

Aggarwal had made a handwritten application on a "plain paper" for appointment in the hospital on August 6, 2015, and within four days his appointment was approved without following any procedure, the complaint alleged.

In December 2016 only, the CBI had filed charge sheet against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's principal secretary Rajendra Kumar who was suspended in connection with a corruption case.
