All primary schools in Delhi to remain closed on Wednesday, says Manish Sisodia

New Delhi: Witnessing the 'severe' quality of air amid thick smog that worsened the environmental situation in Delhi, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education minister Manish Sisodia has announced confirming that all primary schools till class 5 will remain closed tomorrow. He added that the closure might extend till the day after if required.

"All primary schools will remain closed tomorrow, if needed will extend order till day after. Outdoor activities including assemblies should not take place in schools", said Sisodia.

Many schools have decided to suspend outdoor activities and suggested parents to ensure that their children wear masks. Such a call have been taken following witnessing the heavy smog that blanketed the national capital.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal described Delhi as a 'gas chamber'. Furthermore, crop burning, stubble burning and industrial emissions in the adjoining areas also attributed to worsening the air quality.

"Delhi has become a gas chamber. Every year this happens during this part of year. We have to find a solution to crop burning in adjoining states," Kejriwal tweeted today", tweeted Kejriwal.
