Actor Ronodeep Bose critically injured in bike accident

Bengali actor and grandson of thespian Soumitra Chatterjee, Ronodeep Bose, was seriously injured in a major bike accident at New Alipore at around 2 am on Friday. One of his friends Joydip Banerjee, who was the pillion rider, was also injured.

Though Joydip's condition was stated to be stable, Ronodeep underwent a major surgery in a private hospital in the city as he sustained severe head injuries.
Ronodeep was heading to his home on Thursday night along with his friend when the accident took place at P-Block in New Alipore.

Police suspect after speaking to local people that the duo was travelling at a high speed. Joydip looked to some other side while riding the bike and crashed into a wall.
Police said that none of them was wearing helmets. As a result, Ronodeep received severe injuries on his head and legs. It is learnt that he fell unconscious after the collision and suffered excessive bleeding.

The road was deserted when the accident took place in the wee hours. Joydip somehow managed to attract the attention of some passersby and sought help.
He underwent a surgery in the private hospital on Friday morning when the legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee was also present in the health care unit.
Many friends and well-wishers of Ronodeep, rushed to the hospital.

The talented actor received critical acclaim for his roles in Anjan Dutta's Dutta Vs. Dutta (2012), Moinak Bhowmik's Family Album (2015) and Kamaleswar Mukhopadhyay's Khawto (2016).
