5 murders in 24 hrs in Delhi

New Delhi: Trigger- happy miscreants are on a shooting spree in the Capital.

Five persons were gunned down by assailants in different parts of the city in 24 hours. Police said that personal enmity was the reason behind the killings. According to police two incidents were reported from Bhalswa Dairy area of Outer North on Thursday. "A property dealer identified as Chandrashekhar was shot dead by unidentified assailants. In another case, a minor was murdered on Thursday night," police said.

In another case, a person was shot dead in Vikaspuri area in West Delhi whereas on Friday, in broad daylight, two persons were shot dead inside their car in North East Delhi's Nand Nagri.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "Five murders in Delhi in last 24 hours is an extremely serious situation. I appeal to @LtGovDelhi & @HMOIndia to urgently look into the law and order situation of the national capital

In reply to Delhi CM, city police tweeted: "The murders have all been confirmed to be personal enmity related. Accused previously known to victim & already arrested in some cases. Overall heinous crime in 2019 is down by 10.5% Crime by use of firearms is down by 5.65% Crime against women is down by 11.5% @ArvindKejriwal". See P3
