BHEL receives gold award for drawing, document system

BHEL was conferred the Gold Award for its Wrench Enterprise based Drawing & Document Management System implemented at BHEL, Haridwar during Digital Inclusion Awards 2012 organised by Skoch Foundation on 18 September at a glittering ceremony in Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi.

On behalf of BHEL, the award was received by Anjan Dasgupta, ED [CIT] along with representatives from BHEL, Haridwar from Shri Nandan Nilekani, chairman, UIAOI [Aadhar].

The Award ceremony was presided over by Salman Khurshid Minority affairs and Law and Justice minister. The project was conceptualised and implemented by Rakesh Kumar, AGM [EME], Rajesh Sharma, DGM [ITX], Vivek Singh DGM [CDX] and Ranjana Shukla, engineer [ITX].

Wrench Enterprise based Drawing-cum-Document Management System manages all types of drawings and documents of all products of BHEL Haridwar.

All the activities starting from creation, checking, markup, approval, printing, distribution, revision, search etc. are being performed from a single system. The system is seamlessly integrated with other Oracle-based systems.

The benefits of the new system are that only the latest revision of drawing is available online to all the users including manufacturing, purchase, sub-contracting etc.
