BHEL creates awareness on eye donation

As part of the mass awareness drive being carried out by BHEL Haridwar on the occasion of National Eye Donation Day on 8 September, the children of various schools of BHEL township took out six rallies to educate and inspire people about eye donation.

BHEL has embarked on a social mission called ‘Vision to All - BHEL's Call’ - to pledge the eyes of as many employees as possible, for the visually impaired people of our nation - through its chairman B Prasada Rao and director (HR) R Krishnan.

The students of Delhi Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya & the various schools run by the Education Management Board of BHEL took out these six rallies in various sectors of the BHEL township at Haridwar with remarkable enthusiasm to spread the significance of eye donation among the people. These children also inspired the residents of township for eye donation through various innovative placards, slogans and banners. Officials from HR, Township and Public Relations departments of BHEL, and principals & teachers of the various schools also participated in the rallies.

After the completion of these rallies, a documentary presentation based on eye donation was also shown to the students at the computer centre auditorium of BHEL.

It is notable that various types of activities to create awareness among its employees related to eye donation have been organized at BHEL Haridwar in the past week.
