Beyonce, JayZ buy Barbie for £50,000

Singer Beyonce Knowles and husband Jay-Z have reportedly splashed £50,000 on a diamond-encrusted Barbie for their daughter’s first birthday and the total expense is said to have crossed £1,30,000. Their daughter Blu Ivy turned one-year-old 7 January and the coupled spared no expense to make the day special for her, reports thesun.co.uk.
The couple threw a lavish theme-based party and spent £60,000 on white and pink roses used for decoration and bought a cake worth £1,500. Another £20,000 were spent on accessories and toys for Blue Ivy’s young guests, including jewellery sets, princess costumes and playhouses. Not surprising as Knowles, 31, and Jay-Z, 43, were declared the world’s highest-paid celeb couple last year after raking in £48 million in 12 months.
‘Nothing’s been too big or expensive for their little princess. They wanted her first birthday to set the tone for the rest of her life,’ a source said. ‘They work hard for their money and the first thing they want to spend it on is their baby girl,’ the source added. Adults, who attended the bash, were given elaborate goodie bags including concert tickets and personalised gold pens.
