‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ awareness march flagged off

The Haryana PWD (B&R) and Public Health Minister flagged off the awareness yatra from the premises of Swatantrata Senani Zila Parishadn Bhawan here. Union and state ministers had on Saturday flagged off similar awareness tours from 12 districts of Haryana. Addressing the gathering here, Singh said the PM was extremely concerned about the imbalance in sex-ratio and the low literacy rate among females in the country and had therefore, thought of launching the campaign to generate awareness about the issue among the public. “The sex ratio can be improved by educating and empowering women. ...Everybody needs to contribute to this social cause to bring a revolution in the society,” he said. “No programme or policy can become successful without the participation of the masses, The government alone cannot achieve the targe,” he said.
