Be comfortable with your body: Lisa

Fitness is the mantra for Indo-Australian supermodel/actress Lisa Haydon who highlights it with her slim toned body. ‘My motto is: Be comfortable with your body and own skin,’ the dusky 26-year-old beauty and cover girl for Women’s Health in its ‘Fit is the new Sexy’ mantra, told Millennium Post.

‘My fitness is due to yoga and running. I started working out at 14 when I got into weightlifting, running, Pilates and gradually became aware of my own body to the extent that I was intuitive to what it needed. Since sleep is good and is considered beauty sleep, it’s early to bed and early to rise for me,’ she said.

Expressing love for the outdoors alongside her flair for cooking and passion for fashion, Haydon spoke about her diet and the need for being comfortable with what one chose to eat if they felt it was good for their bodies.

‘Both my parents and I are vegans. So my home food comprises vegetables and fruits,’ she said, adding that while she does consume some fish, she follows a blood group diet.

Haydon attributed her fitness, slim body and good health to her mother’s care. ‘My upbringing witnessed me and my six siblings being very health conscious and focusing on fitness as my mother too was the same. Mum was into working out according to the Jane Fonda fitness video, and I have followed suit in working out to a fitness lifestyle over the years,’ she added.

When queried about her return from shooting abroad and the name of the film, Haydon looked at her manager and dodged the question, saying she had a ‘great European summer’ and that she had shot a movie [in Europe] which will be released next year.

To another question about her being an adventure sport junkie, she said: ‘My favourite sport is surfing. I have a teacher and I go to Pondicherry to practise surfing.’

She was keen on trying bungee jumping and was looking forward to it during a shooting stint in Zambia and Congo. But nature had planned something different and exciting for the wildlife-loving girl. ‘I went walking with the lions instead while the others in my group went trekking, bungee jumping,’ she said.

‘My dad’s amazing,’ she replied in a tongue-in-cheek comment to a question about the men in her life. However, Robert Downey Jr. and George Clooney are her favourite Hollywood actors, while Bollywood’s Ranbir Kapoor is a very talented actor, in her opinion.

Describing her Sher Singh designer fashion label as an online clothing — and India’s first — fashion label, she said the emphasis is on designing classic lifestyle clothing to fill the gap in the market and targeting the fashion-conscious globally.
