Bassi hits out, says CM ‘spreading lies’

Bassi further dismissed Kejriwal’s allegations, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not interfere in Delhi affairs. He also objected to AAP government’s advertisement that shows Kejriwal questioning the functioning of the police force and called the advertisement as misleading. He further added the advertisement, which is being aired on TV and radio, should not have been given as it is only creating “misconception.”

He said there were no “shortcomings” in the system as alleged in the advertisement and the Chief Minister should specify what all he wanted to “rectify” as well as his “action plan.”

In the advertisement, Kejriwal refers to the recent brutal murder of 19-year-old-girl and appeals to Modi to take steps to improve Delhi’s “deteriorating” law and order situation or hand over police to the city government.

“We respect the new government and we will love to work with them in improving the law and order situation in the society. Delhi Police structure is unbiased. There is no trust deficit between us,” Bassi said.
