Bank staffer beaten by former lover

A 25-year-old woman, working with a private bank in south Delhi, was allegedly beaten up and robbed by her former live-in partner inside his car, after she refused to marry him. The accused, an MBA degree holder, has been arrested.

Pooja Chaturvedi, who works as relationship manager with Yes Bank’s Green Park branch, claims that the incident took place after she was forced to sit in the car by 28-year-old Deep Baisla on Tuesday. Sources said that Pooja knows Deep, a resident of Noida, for the last five years and they were living together while pursuing MBA?from Bangalore.

‘The complainant stated that Deep was waiting outside her hostel in R K Puram, Sector-4, when she was going to work on Tuesday morning,’ a police official said. Pooja alleged Deep became aggressive when she told him that she was not willing to be in further contact.

 ‘In a fit of rage, he stopped the car and started beating Pooja. She was also thrown out of the car, after which Deep left the place with her valuables and cash,’ the official added. According to the police, Deep allegedly took Pooja’s laptop, two mobile phones, credit and debit cards and Rs 8,000 in cash. A case under section 394 (causing hurt in committing robbery) was lodged.
