Bale to star in The Promise

Hollywood star Christian Bale will star in <g data-gr-id="18">historical</g> romance The Promise to be directed by Hotel Rwanda director Terry George.

The film, set in the last days of the Ottoman Empire, centers on the relationships between Michael (Isaac), a brilliant medical student; the beautiful and sophisticated Ana; and Chris (Bale), who is a renowned American journalist based in Paris, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Bale, 41, along with <g data-gr-id="15">rest</g> of the cast will shoot in Southern Europe including Portugal and the Canary Islands.

Mike Medavoy, Eric Esrailian, Ralph Winter and William Horberg are on board as producers.

The Batman <g data-gr-id="16">triology</g> star was last seen in Exodus: Gods and Kings.

His upcoming films include Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups, The Big Short with Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling and Malick’s Weightless.
