Bajaj Auto Q3 net down 4.78% to Rs 861 crore

Net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 5,520 crore as against Rs 5,294.55 crore in the year-ago quarter. In terms of volume, sales during the quarter were marginally down at 9,84,520 units as against 9,93,690 units in the same period last fiscal.

Sale of motorcycles during the period stood at 8,45,000 units, while that of three-wheeler commercial vehicles were at 1,39,000 units. The company said it sold a total of 4,90,000 units in the international market, adding export revenue was at Rs 2,680 crore.

Shares of Bajaj Auto were trading at Rs 2,415 per scrip in the afternoon trade, up 2.17 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.

Meanwhile, German luxury car maker Audi on Thursday launched the limited edition sports car ‘Audi R8 LMX’ in India priced at Rs 2.97 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Claiming that Audi R8 LMX is the the first production car with laser high beam lighting in India, the company said its production run is limited to only 99 vehicles globally.

Highlighting the significance of the new lighting technology, the company said the laser spot offer a higher range of visibility enhancing the safety aspect. The lights are activated at a speed of 60 kmph and above.
