‘Babu’ rejig: 11 IAS officers reshuffled

The first administrative meeting in the second term of the Trinamool Congress government is on June 3.Four IAS officers were given additional charges while others were sent to new departments and District Magistrate of Jalpaiguri has been made the new Additional Secretary of Land and Land Reforms Department.

Indevar Pandey has become the Principal Resident Commissioner of the state and he will also continue as the Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD).The other IAS officers who have been given the additional charges are Dr Aariz Aftab, Arnab Roy and Khalil Ahmed.

Roy, who was the principal Secretary of the School Education Department, has become Principal Secretary of Environment Department along with the additional charge of Fire and Emergency Services Department. Roy replaced Chandan Sinha in the Environment Department and S Suresh Kumar in the Fire and Emergency Services Department.

The Commissioner of Burdwan Range, Dr Aariz Aftab has been given the additional charge of the Principal Secretary of the Self Help Groups and Self-Employment Department.

Similarly, Municipal Commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Khalil Ahmed has also been given the additional charge of the Housing Department replacing Subrata Biswas.

Biswas has been transferred to the post of Principal Secretary of the Refugee, Relief and Rehabilitation Department. Senior IAS officer BP Gopalika has become the principal Secretary of the Co-operation Department.

Dushyant Nariala, who was the Secretary of the Self Help Groups and Self Employment Department, has become the Secretary of the School Education Department.

Onkar Singh Meena has been made the Secretary of Municipal Affairs Department. He was earlier in the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Pritha Sarkar, who was the DM of Jalpaiguri, has become the Additional Secretary of the Land and Land reforms Department replacing V Lalithalakshmi, who had been made the new DM of Jalpaiguri district.

Sanjay Bansal has become the Joint Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department. He was earlier in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms department.

It is learnt that there will be another reshuffle in the IAS cadre when the districts are expected to get new DMs.

Goutam Sanyal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is continuing with the present posting and his posting is “co-terminus” with tenure of the Chief Minister. Pradip Majumdar is also continuing as Advisor to the Chief Minister in agriculture.
