The sting operation claimed the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Shiv Sena hatched a conspiracy to bring down the mosque. It also claimed that it was a well-planned move and not a spontaneous act by a frenzied mob.

It said the cadre was given army training for the mission and dynamites were also stored for bringing the mosque. It claimed that the oath was taken to demolish the structure in the presence of Advani and Joshi and that on 5, December, 1992, the then UP chief minister Kalyan Singh was informed about the plan.

Meanwhile, the BJP has asked the Election Commission (EC) to stop the broadcast of the sting operation. ‘This is a deliberate attempt to disturb the harmony of the country,’ said BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

It was learnt that Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath has instructed its officials to look in to the matter.
